1. Who we are
Anaedo is a directory for discovering businesses, services, places and opportunities in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria. For this policy, Anaedo is the data controller for the personal data it decides how and why to process. For privacy questions, contact nnewimarketplace@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you create an account, create or claim a listing, upload a photo, submit a review or report, or contact us. This can include your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, account details, business details, photographs, review or report content, and location or address information. We also collect limited technical data such as device, browser, IP address, pages visited and cookies needed to operate and secure the service.
3. Why we use information
We use personal data to provide and improve Anaedo; create and administer accounts; publish and verify directory listings; prevent fraud, spam and misuse; respond to requests; enforce our Terms; communicate service-related messages; and meet legal obligations. We rely on consent where required, performance of a contract or requested service, our legitimate interests in operating a safe and useful directory, and legal obligations, as applicable.
4. Public listings
Information submitted for a public listing—such as a business or place name, address, opening information, description, public contact details and photos—may be visible to anyone using Anaedo and may be indexed by search engines. Do not submit personal information you do not intend to make public. Listing owners are responsible for ensuring they have authority to provide the information and photographs they submit.
5. Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with service providers that help us host, secure, analyse or operate Anaedo, including our authentication, database and storage providers; with professional advisers or authorities where required by law; and with another person where you direct us to do so. Providers may process data only under appropriate contractual safeguards and instructions.
6. International transfers
Some service providers may store or process data outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we will use safeguards required by applicable Nigerian data-protection law, taking account of the destination, the provider and the nature of the transfer.
7. Retention and security
We keep data only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including to operate accounts and listings, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We will handle suspected breaches in line with applicable law and our incident procedures.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of or objection to processing of your personal data; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and request portability where applicable. To make a request, contact nnewimarketplace@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain limited data where necessary for legal, security or record-keeping reasons. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
9. Cookies
Anaedo may use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, protect the service and understand basic usage. We will seek any consent required for non-essential cookies and will provide a cookie notice or preference tool before introducing advertising or non-essential analytics cookies.
10. Children, third-party links and changes
Anaedo is not directed to children. Do not create an account or submit personal data for a child without appropriate authority. Third-party sites linked from Anaedo have their own privacy practices. We may update this policy when our practices or the law changes; the revised date will appear below.
